AI Server Demand Fuels Revenue 'Explosion'.. Supermicro Projects Annual Revenue of 50 Trillion Won Amid Profit Margin Decline

Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI) delivered fiscal 2026 second-quarter revenue of $12.7 billion (roughly 17 trillion won), more than doubling the $5.7 billion (about 7 trillion won) reported a year earlier, driven by surging demand for AI servers and storage. However, its GAAP gross margin plunged to 6.3% from 11.8% in the prior-year period. Net income rose to approximately $400 million (around 500 billion won) from about $320 million a year ago, but operating cash flow turned slightly negative as working capital—particularly inventory—expanded. Leveraging expanded global production capacity, SMCI provided guidance for at least $12.3 billion (approximately 16 trillion won) in third-quarter revenue and no less than $40 billion (in the 50-trillion-won range) for the full fiscal year. Equity-based compensation continued for the board and executive team, with restricted stock units vesting or being newly granted to the lead independent director and the chief accounting officer.

Server Solutions

Recently, SMCI’s share price declined for two consecutive trading days and, as of March 3, was trading roughly 50% below its 52-week high. At the same time, through partnerships that include NVIDIA’s next-generation AI GPU platform, the company is expanding its data-center AI server and storage portfolio as well as its liquid-cooling AI infrastructure solutions.

Founded in 1993, Super Micro Computer, Inc. is a Silicon Valley–headquartered specialist in AI, cloud, and storage servers, with manufacturing operations in the U.S., Taiwan, and Europe. The company offers fully integrated solutions that combine its in-house server, motherboard, power supply, and chassis designs. As investments ramp up in AI training and inference, cloud data centers, and carrier edge infrastructure, demand for high-performance GPU servers and liquid-cooled data centers is accelerating, driving growth across the broader server and storage market.
