US Semiconductor Executive Sells Company Shares Worth 400 Billion Won
According to a recent regulatory disclosure, Saria Cheng, Vice President and General Counsel of U.S. semiconductor firm Monolithic Power Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: MPWR), sold approximately 27,000 shares of the company’s common stock in eight separate on-market transactions on March 30 under a pre-established Rule 10b5-1 trading plan, securing about $28 million (roughly ₩400 billion) in cash.
Even after this sale, Cheng continues to hold roughly 170,000 shares directly, maintains additional indirect holdings through a foundation, and retains a small allotment of new shares acquired via the employee stock purchase program on February 17, reflecting her ongoing executive ownership stake.
Maurice Siamas, the company’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, also disposed of a modest number of shares—on the order of several dozen—on March 20 under a Rule 10b5-1 plan. Despite this, he still owns hundreds of thousands of shares in aggregate, both directly and indirectly, according to the filing.
The company has recently expanded its system-level power management solutions by securing new design wins for advanced driver-assistance systems in automotive applications and battery management systems for robotics. It maintains a high-growth trajectory, targeting approximately 20 percent revenue growth by 2026.
Leveraging strong demand from electric vehicles, industrial and telecommunications infrastructure, and cloud/data-center markets, Monolithic Power Systems has grown its power-management chip revenue at an annual rate near 20 percent and has increased its dividend for six consecutive years, underscoring its robust financial position.
Founded in 1997 by Michael Hsing, Monolithic Power Systems Inc. is a U.S. fabless power-semiconductor company that supplies high-efficiency DC-DC power-conversion chips and power-management ICs for automotive, industrial, telecom-infrastructure, cloud-computing, and consumer-electronics applications.
