AI Rally for 'Datadog'... Executives Including CEO and CTO Sell Shares

Datadog, Inc. (Nasdaq: DDOG) CEO Olivier Pomel converted Class B common shares into Class A shares on April 9 and, under a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 plan, sold approximately 42,000 shares to secure about $4.8–5.0 million (roughly KRW 7 billion) in liquidity. Filings show that even after further Class B-to-A conversions, he still holds over 900,000 shares.

On April 22, CTO Alexis Lecoq, and on May 4, the family trust of executive Amit Agarwal followed suit, converting Class B into Class A shares and selling tens of thousands of shares under their respective plans. Lecoq raised about $5.67 million (≈KRW 8 billion) and Agarwal’s trust secured about $3.2 million (≈KRW 4 billion). All three insiders and their trusts continue to own significant Class A and Class B stakes.

In its Q1 2026 results announced May 7, Datadog reported revenue of $1.06 billion (≈KRW 1.3 trillion), a 32% increase year-over-year, and raised its full-year revenue guidance to $4.30–4.34 billion. Shares jumped roughly 30% intraday, the largest gain in the S&P 500 on that day.

The company attributed its momentum to growing demand for its AI-powered observability and security platform, FedRAMP High certification for U.S. federal agencies, and new contracts with major cloud, financial, and government clients. It emphasized that infrastructure observability in the AI era will be a long-term growth driver.

Founded in New York in 2010 by Olivier Pomel and Alexis Lecoq, Datadog is a SaaS company specializing in cloud application observability, providing a unified platform to monitor servers, databases, microservices, and more.

Having grown into a component of the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500, Datadog has emerged as a key player in the observability market amid increasing IT complexity driven by AI adoption. After its strong results and raised guidance, it is now widely viewed as a leading beneficiary of the AI infrastructure trend.
