'NVIDIA Rival' New AI Chip Stock Surges 8% in Just One Trading Day

On the Nasdaq, Cerebras Systems Inc. (CBRS) jumped 8.49% from the previous trading day to close at $303.46. With about 6.98 million shares changing hands, its market capitalization rose by roughly $840 million in a single day to reach $9.1 billion (approximately ₩11.8 trillion).

After a steep drop immediately following its IPO, CBRS has rebounded as institutional investors and momentum funds have returned, driving renewed buying interest. Just three days ago, the company raised about $5.55 billion in its IPO—one of the largest tech offerings of 2026—and since then the stock has exhibited high volatility, swinging between sharp rallies and pullbacks.

Cerebras Systems is a U.S. semiconductor firm that designs wafer-scale AI chips and systems. Leveraging its high-performance AI inference infrastructure, it has emerged as a key competitor to NVIDIA. The company projects 2025 revenue of roughly $510 million (around ₩660 billion) and is building a high-growth narrative based on multi-year contracts with OpenAI and Amazon Web Services.
