NASDAQ Fintech Stocks Surge 5% on $200 Million Buyback

Chime Financial (Chime Finl Inc.; Nasdaq: CHYM) closed at $17.76 on the Nasdaq on the 20th, up 5.04%. Its market capitalization rose by about $329 million to $6.197 billion (roughly 8 trillion KRW) in a single day, and trading volume reached 3.57 million shares.

The company’s board recently approved an additional share repurchase program of up to $200 million, providing roughly $200 million (around 270 billion KRW) in buyback capacity. News that Patient Capital, a major long-term investor, purchased over 2 million shares has further underscored institutional demand.

Chime Financial is a U.S.-based, mobile-first digital banking platform offering a range of consumer financial services, including fee-free checking and savings accounts, debit cards, early access to pay, small-dollar loans, and credit-building cards.
