Design Software Giant Acquires $3.6 Billion Maintenance Platform
Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) announced on May 28 that it has entered into an all-cash agreement to acquire maintenance and operations software provider MaintenX for approximately $3.6 billion (₩5 trillion). The purchase will be funded through a combination of existing cash and debt. MaintenX is projected to deliver more than $135 million in annual recurring revenue by 2026, with growth exceeding 50%. Once integrated into Autodesk’s new “Operations Solutions” platform, the acquisition will extend the company’s AI-driven offerings from design and manufacturing into the operations phase. To support the deal, Autodesk secured a new $1 billion credit facility maturing in 364 days on June 15. On May 29, director Stacey J. Smith further demonstrated her confidence by purchasing roughly $790,000 of Autodesk shares on the open market.

On June 4, Autodesk updated its “Autodesk for Small Business” program, reducing the minimum purchase unit of its token-based “Autodesk Flex” pricing plan to about $99. This adjustment is designed to make the company’s offerings more accessible to small businesses and freelance professionals.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Autodesk is a leading design and engineering software firm serving the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), manufacturing, and media and entertainment sectors with products such as AutoCAD and Revit. Leveraging a subscription-based, cloud-first business model and AI-powered design tools, Autodesk competes with major global players in the construction and manufacturing software markets.
Recently, Autodesk has accelerated its strategy to build a unified platform that combines operational data with artificial intelligence, reinforcing its position as a comprehensive provider of end-to-end digital solutions across the entire asset lifecycle.
